A few weeks after school was canceled and the state went into lock down from COVID-19, Sahitya had an idea to host virtual art classes for kids. Soon, she contacted community members and friends to spread the message. Then, Sahitya and Nandini began hosting online art classes via Zoom for students of all ages.
The classes included watercolor painting, pencil sketching, origami, drawing with colored pencils/crayons/markers, creating greeting cards, and more. The lessons were hosted weekly and consisted of up to 15 kids per class. We continued conducting these classes for 8 weeks and raised $350, which was donated to the Chester County Food Bank.
